This Halloween was our first in a house in a neighborhood with kids in costumes, including tiny ones pushed in strollers by parents. And, those tweens… dragging bulging pillowcases who ring the doorbell after the porch light is off hoping to get the really expensive candy we were hoping to eat watching the 10 pm news.
And, is it just a St. Louis “thing” that Trick or Treat really includes doing a trick?
In Florida, the goblins stared at us, clueless to why we asked them to display a “trick”, or s-o-m-e-t-h-i-n-g worthy of the “treat”. Oh, well. Another reason we moved back to our familiar hometown.
Do you ever get ahead of yourself?
It seems to be my modus operandi. I was so eager for cooler temps and for fall to begin that I decorated the house rather early. Now, I must wait out the calendar until Thanksgiving night to place every Christmas decoration in every window and door while the neighbors partake in Black Friday shopping.
Live in the moment. Live in the moment.
It’s an Oprah invisible bubble popping into my head to help from getting ahead of myself.
