Have you noticed how popular deer antlers are?
Antlers are everywhere! They are especially popular for home decor. They are stamped on throw pillows, made into bookends and picture frames and more! This week I received a custom order from a mother of the bride for centerpieces made with, you guessed it, real deer antlers and pink dahlias and roses.
Everything starts with a pile of something!
The wedding will take place in Texas. The groom is an avid hunter and the bride, from St. Louis, is wanting a soft and romantic look. Taking those two concepts, I designed five table centerpieces for the pre-wedding brunch.
Once the antlers were secured, an assortment of soft silk flowers in shades of pink and cream plus bits of greenery were added.
Make your own arrangement
These arrangments are easy to make. Really.
It’s simply a block of florist foam (that green stuff found in the vase when you purchase a live floral arrangement), a minimum of five different high-quality silk flower, stems cut short, and of course – a matching set of antlers! Artificial antlers are sold in retail hobby stores.
It was a productive week in the studio!
